Legal Education and the Technology of Law: SubTech 2010
SubTech, a biannual international conference now in its 20th year, is looking to expand its network and is seeking interested academics and others with an active interest in technology in the law school to attend its invited conference in Zaragoza, Spain from 1st to 3rd July 2010. We are particularly interested in attracting younger attendees to replace the older generation and those who are no longer active in the field.
SubTech is concerned with issues at the intersection of legal technology and legal education, such as teaching students about technology in professional practice and research about advanced technology in law-related settings.
Attendance at SubTech is subsidised: attendees are required only to pay their travel and accommodation costs. We have arranged good quality, good value accommodation, so for those who wish to participate, costs will not be high.
SubTech is an active, participatory event, so all attendees are required to submit a short paper or description of their relevant work over the past three or four years. This will be included in the conference package.
More information on the conference can be got from www.subtech2010.org or by contacting one of the organisers – Marc Lauritsen(marc@capstonepractice.com), Fernando Galindo (cfa@unizar.es) or Philip Leith (p.leith@qub.ac.uk).
If you would like to be involved with the SubTech network, email one of us with an outline of how your work will advance the use and study of legal technology in legal education.
